Christophe Deloire – Information, a Human Right

It has been heard often but is hardly remembered: information is a universal right, enshrined in most constitutions but increasingly violated with total impunity. A global overview with the Secretary General of Reporter Without Borders.

Christophe Deloire has been the general secretary of RSF since 2012 after having been the director of the Journalists’ Training Centre (CFJ) since 2008.

Christophe Deloire graduated from the École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) in 1994. From 1994 to 1996, he carried out his national service as a development worker at TF1’s Berlin bureau, then worked for two years as a freelancer at Arte and LCI. In 1998, Christophe Deloire joined the “Society” section of the weekly newspaper Le Point and then joined the “Politics” section, where he was in charge of the “Investigation” sector.

In June 2007, he resigned from Le Point to become the editor-in-chief of the “Politics-Economics” section of the daily newspaper project, known as “Bild à la française”, of the German press group Axel Springer, which was finally abandoned.

On 11 November 2019, Christophe Deloire is elected Chairman of the Board of the Forum for Information and Democracy.

Christophe Deloire is also the author and co-author (with Christophe Dubois) of: “Cadavres sous influence: les morts mystérieuses de la Ve République” (2003); “L’enquête sabotée: comment l’assassin présumé du préfet Érignac a-t-il pu échapper? “(2003); “Les islamistes sont déjà là : enquête sur une guerre secret” (2004) and of the bestseller, “Sexus Politicus” (2006).
