"Environmental Justice: Ecocide, the ICC and multilevel litigation for a global crisis". This was the subject of a conference organized by our online media JusticeInfo.net in The Hague, Netherlands, on December 3, as an external event of the Assembly of States Parties to the International Criminal Court.

More than 80 people participated in this discussion held at Café Utopie. Law students, lawyers, human rights defenders and NGO leaders discussed with the panelists, three renowned specialists in the legal treatment of environmental crimes: Valérie Cabanes, international lawyer, "End Ecocide on Earth"; Maud Sarliève, climate litigation expert and international lawyer; Prof. Japp Spier, former Prosecutor in the Urgenda case and author of the Oslo Principles. The discussion was moderated by Benjamin Bibas, environmental journalist for JusticeInfo.net. Franck Petit, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Justice Info, also took the floor to explain the work of Justice Info.

This evening was also the opportunity to present to one of JusticeInfo.net's target audiences the book "12 Voices on Global Justice", published by Justice Info and Fondation Hirondelle in December. This 114-page book in English includes 12 major interviews with key actors in international justice and reconciliation processes. Reed Brody, legal adviser of the NGO Human Rights Watch, and one of the personalities interviewed in this book, was present at the event. "So much is happening on the international justice front right now. This book, like the JusticeInfo.net website, gives a voice to people who really want to change the international judicial system," he explained.
